Finish Your Own Basement

Design a floor plan, work with a budget, and build with quality.

Believe it or not, you can finish your own basement with little to no experience, even if you have a small budget and a short time frame.

Meet Josh

My name is Josh Astbury and I am finishing my own basement.

In 2015 my family consisted of my wife and I, our two daughters, and we hosted an international student. We also spent many weekends hosting family members. Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house could only take us so far with that many people, so we decided to finish our basement.

After getting quotes from professional contractors, we realized the only way for us to do it soon was to do it ourselves. I researched for hours and hours on the internet to try and piece together the information about finishing a basement from start to finish.

I worked with family members, learned from YouTube, read books, blogs, and everything in between. The truth is, I had to spend lots of time gathering information for each stage of basement finishing. I wanted to create a resource that people could use that would allow them to spend more time finishing their own basement, and less time piecing together the details.
